Summer Promise
Summer Promise Book 1 in the Christy Miller Series
As 14-year-old Christy leaves her family's Wisconsin farm to spend the summer at her wealthy aunt and uncle's home in Newport Beach, she hopes this will be the best summer of her life. When she meets surfer Todd with his screaming silver blue eyes, she's certain it will be.
But when the summer doesn't unfold as Christy had hoped, she wonders if she'll keep her promise to her parents not to do anything she'll regret. Will she do anything to get Todd, to be accepted, to force her summer to give her everything it promised?

Review
14 year old Christy gets introduced to a whole other world when she gets to live with her aunt & uncle in California during the summer. She meets new friends and needs to make decision about who to be friends with and what kind of person she wants to be. She lets herself be influenced by her fashionable aunt and gets a new haircut and a new wardrobe. She meets new friends at the beach who tell her about Jesus.
I liked the beginning. Christy is really trying to discover who she is and what she does & doesn’t want to do. I think I would have loved this had I been a similar age as Christy, but I still really enjoyed it. Christy meets Todd and starts a friendship with him.The moments between Christy & Todd are really nice to read about. They talk about Jesus, friendships & making decisions. Todd & her friend Tracy make her thing about things she hasn’t really thought about before. Christy has always believed in God and went to church with her parents. But a personal relationship with God? She’d never really think about it in that way.
I’m interested in discovering how this series is going to evolve. I am hoping to see a personal development from Christy and her friends.
Do I recommend it?
If you are a girl who is a Christian or just interested in discovering if there is a God and who he is, I would definitely recommend this first book, especially if you are in the age from 14-19! All books in this series are pretty short, so you’ll fly through them, give it a try and let me know your thoughts!
You can buy the series at Bookdepository!
