My bookresolutions for 2015!

It's 2015!

I know I'm very late, but HAPPY NEWYEAR!

At the beginning of the year you start to think of all the goals you want to achieve this year. So I wanna share my reading goals for 2015!!

Reading Goals

Goodreads 2015 reading challenge

The last two years I have been participating in the goodreads reading challenge. My reading goal for 2014 was to read 30 books, but unfortunately I didn't complete this challenge. So this year I'm gonna set a much lower goal and go for 20 books. I think this is a more realistic goal, also because I'm planning on reading some really big books this year.

Jane Austen
This year I wanna start reading book by Jane Austen. I never read a book written by her before and I really want to try them because I've heard so many good things about them.  If you have any suggestions which Jane Austen book I should read, please leave a comment below :)

Book to movie adaptations
I wanna read some more books that are made into a movie. For example, I really want to read Life of Pi by Yann Martel.

Series
So, this year I want to read The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I tried to read the first book, City of Bones, a couple of times, but i got stuck each time and put the book down. There are so many people loving this series (and I own all the books) that I really need to give this one another try.

I also want to try to read The Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. These books are so big that I just haven't had the courage to start. I didn't start watching the TV-show because I want to read the book first.. but I REALLY want to watch the show now so I have to start reading it!

Graphic Novels

These graphic novels really got a lot of attention last year. I would like to try some, but I have no idea were to start, there are so many!!
If any of you know what a good graphic novel is to start with, let me know!

And last but not least, I wish to all of you a happy, healthy and loving 2015 with a lot of fun, exciting things and a lot of fun reading!

~xxx~

  1. Good luck with the Song of Ice and Fire series! I started reading the books a little over two years ago and I recently finished the third book. I took me quite some time to really get into them, since every chapter is narrated by another character, but during the last book I read I really got into it and I just couldn't put it down.

    1. Thanks Bregje! I am very excited to read the Song of Ice and Fire series, but you are right, they are very intimidating. So many pages!

  2. Oooh! Love George R.R. Martin. I'm up to A Feast for Crows. Try them on an ereader. That's how I finally got around to reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. You don't have to deal with a big bulky book and the pages fly by.

  4. Good luck! I also like to (finally) finish the first book of The Song of Ice and Fire series. But it is taking quite some time, hehe. I completely understand why you don't want to watch the tv show yet, although I've seen everything already. It makes the books less interesting because you already know so much.. That's probably why I can't get through the first book...

Those books are just so big and intimidating.. but this year I really want to read them (at least the first one)!

  5. Good luck with your bookresolutions! My daughter has told me that I will be reading all of Cassandra Clare's books this year (we own them all and actually had all of them signed when we saw her at a signing last May).

I loved all of George RR Martin's books - they are quite big, but so worth it. I watched a couple episodes of the tv show, but stopped since the books were so good. I hope you enjoy them!

    1. Hi Margaret, it's so great that you have signed books by Cassandra Clare! I haven't read any of her books yet but I want to read The Mortal Instruments this year.

I just started A game of Thrones and already love the writing, I'm glad you loved all those books :)

  6. I like these goals and I hope you meet them! I read the first book Game of Thrones and the box set is coming my way which makes me happy! I also loveee The Mortal Instruments (it counts as book to film adaption too!) So I hope you like those. I need to read Life of Pi as well.
