Review: The Last Olympian

Title: The Last Olympian
Series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians #5
Author: Rick Riordan
Pages: 381
Release date: May 2009
Age group: Middle grade

As I mentioned in the review of the fourth book in this series, I expect an epic ending to this series and I hope I will be very content with it!

This last installment of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan was everything I could hope for. I can't get into much detail without spoiling some important moments.
It was action-packed with a lot of fights and I liked that.
There were some of the humorous moments I'd gotten so used to in the previous books, but this one was a lot darker and (understandable) less humorous. We finally get an answer to the Percy- Annabeth friendship-questions.

I literally can't think of something that I didn't like in this book. This series always makes you think of what could happen while reading and often I'm wrong because of the surprise elements Rick Riordan puts in them. I like the fact that it isn't a predictable story.

I'm really curious about the Heroes of Olympus series Rick Riordan wrote and will definitely read that one!
Did you read the series? What did you think of it? Do you have a favorite book in this series?

  1. Hi, Myra! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog - I think you're the first person to even look at it! I love how you've set yours up, it looks fantastic!

I have not read any of the Percy Jackson series. Actually, I read a good portion of the Lightning Thief to my kids, and then my son took it camping and finished it on his own. That was his first novel, and I was so proud of him because he was only 7 at the time. Now he's finished the series, and Ailis, my 8 year old daughter, has also finished the series. They both love these books soooooooo much! Guess I should try them for myself?

Anyway, look forward to reading more of your reviews. Hugs, Roxy.
