Synopsis from Goodreads:One tragic event can change everything in a life.
It can change the way we see the world around us.
Sometimes it can change the worlds we see.
Worlds we didn’t know existed.

When she slips into the In-Between for a few seconds she sees him. He's more beautiful than anything she has ever seen before. She's drawn to him in a way she's can't explain.

Between the popular girls being poisoned and loves first kiss, she hardly has time to chase down a mystery man.
As the poison that sent her to the In-Between wreaks havoc on her body, the man she met there is equally damaging on her heart.

Expectations
I've got this book of Amazon for free and I really hope I like it. The synopsis sounds exciting, although a little familiar, like the twilight story. I like the cover, it looks mysterious and beautiful at the same time.

Review
The books starts out with a short look into the future, two years from the actual story. It was an action-packed and intriguing start. The first 60 pages or so really got to me. I got a clear view of the main character Aimee and sympathized with her very quickly. It felt like a honest story, in which she shares the tragic event. After that I liked the love-interest she had and I could understand how she must be feeling. I really liked this story so far.

Then things became weird and I slowly started to care less about the plot. Some things were really predictable and other things just didn't make any sense. Some moments were nice, but most of the last 100 pages were just not for me at ALL. I really needed to make myself finish the book.

The sympathy I had for Aimee started to fade with her making decisions I couldn't understand.I liked the Shane-character. To me he was the best character in the book. The other characters had no realness and I couldn't really relate to them.

The portrayal of her sister really annoyed me. She was such a stereotypical girl who cares about nothing but boys and clothes. At first I thought she was going to develop in a more meaningful character, but she just stayed the same, even when bad things happened. To me it seemed very unrealistic.

Maybe it's me, but I didn't like the angel and the relationship between Aimee and him. It just all felt very weird to me, and sometimes the plot seemed rushed. A lot of sentences were just not right and I found myself checking if I missed a page quite often.
I'm not interested in the rest of this series and I wouldn't recommend this book, although on Goodreads there are quite some people who really liked this book. If you like the synopsis, you should try reading it yourself.

For me, this book was a good start with a disappointing finish. Therefore, I give it two stars.
